Greetings! This is an original photograph, taken at the top of Independence Pass (near Aspen, Colorado), which climbs up to an elevation of 12,095 feet on the Continental Divide. This pass is closed in the winter (for very good reason, because it is a two-lane windy road that touches peaks and rivers on both sides of the road – no room for mistakes). As it was a hundred years ago, going over the pass is a grand adventure! This beautiful lake went on and on – touching the clouds!
