Greetings! This is an original photograph, taken close to the sky on Independence Pass (near Aspen, Colorado), which climbs up to an elevation of 12,095 feet on the Continental Divide. The aspen were in full bloom when I made my way up to the pass (which I do every fall – not only to experience the gold of the trees but to touch the sky on my way by). It is closed in the winter (for very good reason, because it is a two-lane windy road that touches peaks and rivers on both sides of the road – no room for mistakes). Whatever the season, going over the pass is a grand adventure!
