Greetings! This is an original photograph taken of the Cape Meares lighthouse on the Oregon Coast (near Tillamook, Oregon). I've visited many lighthouses (one of my favorite things to do) but walking up to this one was a beautiful surprise. The tower is octagonal (the only one of its kind on the Oregon coast). It is “only” 38 feet tall—the shortest lighthouse in Oregon—but its light could (until 1963, when it was automated) be seen for 21 miles out to sea! A sight for sore sailor eyes, without a doubt!
