This is an original photograph, taken deep along a path in the Redwood National and State Parks (a complex of one United States national park and three California state parks located along the coast of northern California). The parks' 139,000 acres preserve 45 percent of all remaining old-growth coast redwood forests. Beyond words! Their shapes and sizes and incredible stature are more than mystical and magical. They’ve seen us come and go; they’ve seen us at our worst (cutting down 1,000+year old monarchs) and at our best (standing at their feet, wide eyed with joy and wonder). I can only hope our best, and our true hearts, is what they remember about all of us.
