This is an original photo, taken on an 1885 cattle-drive trail – now known as Owl Creek Pass (which runs through the Uncompahgre National Forest and right to the heavenly Silver Jack Reservoir), near Ridgway, Colorado. (Oh, if you’ve ever seen the original movie True Grit, a great deal of it was filmed up on Owl Creek!) In the fall, it’s all about some of the most spectacular aspen on Earth (no kidding)!
